Wedding Survival Dance One Day Workshop

Interested in social dancing? For the person who has never danced a step in their life or is afraid to, this is the class for you! Here's a Ballroom sample class. This is a gentle introduction to Ballroom Dancing. Even if you've never danced a step in your life, you'll discover how easy it is to learn the basics of  Waltz, Swing, and Salsa. These Basic dance steps are suitable for all social situations. Ballroom Survival will prepare you for beginner levels and expand your comfort zone. It's a great way to surprise and impress your wife or that special girl.

Ballroom Dance Beginner

This class is intended for absolute beginners. You will learn basic steps, turns, and techniques for leading and following. The Waltz, Foxtrot, and Tango are featured, with the Waltz being especially popular on DWTS. Instruction will focus on combining dance elements to create simple routines suitable for parties, nightclubs, social gatherings, and special events. This class also prepares you for more advanced levels.

FREE Intro Ballroom Dance Class

Have a wedding or special event coming up? You will learn that ballroom dance is as easy as walking. Learn the foundational movements for any dance, and how quickly, simply, and easily it is to learn. This free class is followed by (recommended) Wedding Survival Dance Workshop, which will set you on your way to becoming a social dancer.

Ballroom Dance Intermediate

This class will refresh your memory of the basics and expand your repertoire of steps, turns, leads, and follows. Everything you learn will come together into a complete routine you can use in social situations. This class will make you look and feel like an accomplished dancer. Taking the Ballroom Beginner class is strongly recommended as a prerequisite and warm-up. I frequently use my beginner class as a warm-up for this level.

  • Thursday, April 9th - May 14th (no class 4/30) - 7:00pm - 7:45pm

Salsa / Swing Beginner

This class is perfect if you’re just starting out. You’ll pick up the basics, including turns and how to lead or follow. We’ll focus on Salsa and Swing, two of the most popular dances today. By the end, you’ll be able to put together simple steps for parties, nightclubs, or any social event. This class will get you ready for more advanced dancing.

  • Thursday, March 5th - April 2nd - 7:50pm - 8:35pm

Member: $80, Non-Member: $90

Salsa / Swing Intermediate

This class reviews fundamental techniques and introduces a wider range of steps, turns, and lead-follow skills. You will learn to combine these elements into a complete routine suitable for social settings, helping you dance with confidence. Taking Salsa/Swing Beginner beforehand is strongly recommended as a prerequisite and warm-up. I often use the beginner class as preparation for this level.

About Instructor Connie King

Connie has over forty years of training, teaching, and competitive experience. She has been privileged to receive her training from the world's finest coaches from England, Australia, Germany, Denmark, Norway, and America. Now she brings all of her skills to the Broadview Heights Recreation Center.

 

Attire: Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement. Avoid tight, restrictive clothing. Your shoes should not have traction, so opt for leather, felt, or smooth-soled shoes. Remember to bring a clean, dry pair of shoes for the lessons.

 

Partners are recommended, but not required. Partner rotation is mandatory.
